The Blind Side

Watched this movie not too long ago back home, "The Blind Side". What I can say is that this is one movie you cannot miss, much like Freedom Writers or even Dead Poet's Society. This is one of which that appeals to me and is pretty mature and serious. Of course, I'm not saying I'm one who only watches slapstick movies.

Inspiring, touching and truly amazing, these are the words to describe this story. What makes this movie even more awesome, is that its based on an actual true story! I mean, wow! I never could have thought what this person Micheal Oher is actually real! Not till I saw the credits which portrayed actual pictures of him and his adopted family and his highlight reel of his life when he got drafted into an NFL team.

What's amazing about this story in my opinion is the family, the Tuohys, who took Oher in. If what was screened in the movie was actually real, the kindness and level of acceptance this family has is truly aspiring. Imagine this, in Singapore's concept, one day your Chinese mom brings home a rugged, tall, intimidating looking Malay man and lives with you. Would you be repelled, even the slightest bit by him? If you said no, be true to yourself and think again, most would, even I admit it. A White family adopting a Black kid and sends him to college! Sure they're rich but the fact that they cared for him so much, to make sure he lives to his full potential is truly amazing, not the willingness to help, but the desire to. Furthermore I can't believe they trust and treats him like their own! The stereotyped Blacks in the states are generally associated to crime and being as far from being civilized as a worm wanting to fly. Its really hard to believe what they did, that's noble.

I have never felt this urge to write, okay technically this ain't writing but you catch my drift, since I lost the urge to blog. Wow.

I'd highly recommend you watch this, perhaps you already did, good for you.

Rain

Folks, rain and jogging don't mix well, it will result you in sprinting for your life for the nearest shelter even though it isn't very near. That happened earlier when I was jogging, past the up slope near the private housing area along the long stretch of road which leads to either Bishan or Ang Mo Kio. Felt droplets of water tickling my face, hoped that it was just some water from the leaves of the trees, turns out these droplets doubled, tripled and quadrupled! Sprinted all the way to NYJC and waited it out, damn the wait was boring, was deciding whether to give a call to chang or yuxi or simon for an umbrella but decided not to in the end.
Hope I don't get sick, haha!

Oh yes! I'm finally about to finish studying for Aircraft Ratings! Chiong-ed it with Graci yesterday like for practically the whole day. I do NOT want to repeat this shit again, super tedious I'm telling you.

Realized that you're getting wearier and wearier as the days go by this week since school term started for the year? You're not alone, first day after school, first thing I did when I got home was to SLEEP! How did we do it last year? Damn the early school days! Though on the bright side, the new time table is awesome! Not as good as VJ, ending at like 12.30 and latest 2!!! WTF?! But, its still WAY better than last year, no more 5pm days! Whoo hoo :D

Stay strong guys! Holidays will come again as they always do.
